Belgium will complete their preparations for Euro 2024 with a friendly match against Luxembourg in Brussels on Saturday. Luxembourg aren’t heading to the Euros and this match can only sharpen them for the Nations League in September. As they head to Germany, Belgium will be looking to keep their unbeaten run intact. They haven't lost a game since their shock defeat to Morocco at the 2022 World Cup. A 2-0 win over Morocco in a midweek friendly marked Belgium’s 14th straight unbeaten game. It was their ninth win in that run, enabled by goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Leandro Trossard either side of half time. That was the sixth time in 10 matches that they scored more than a goal. There isn’t a question about Belgium’s attacking quality; in the last 14 matches, they only failed to score twice. Domenico Tedesco’s side has also been in top form when playing at home, winning four in a run of six unbeaten matches. They did so with three straight clean sheets at home and will be looking to extend it, to head to Germany on a high.

Luxembourg rank 85 places below Belgium but will come here looking to shock their hosts. If they do so, it will be the first time in 14 meetings for Luxembourg to beat Belgium. The last time these two nations faced off was a decade ago, in a game Luxembourg suffered a 5-1 defeat. Romelu Lukaku, who scored three back then, and Kevin De Bruyne are still around and remain key threats ahead of this game. The visitors didn’t have the perfect warmup for this game, losing 3-0 to Europe’s best ranked nation, France, in their midweek encounter. For the second time in three games, Luxembourg conceded in both halves, and here they come still vulnerable in defence. They have just one clean sheet in their last nine matches – not a very good run, facing one of the best attacking sides around.
