Sweden and Serbia are keen to rise from midweek defeats when they meet in a Saturday friendly match in Solna. Hosts Sweden are preparing for the Nations League in September while Serbia are set to play at the 2024 European Championship. Heading into this game, Sweden will be looking to bounce back after their 2-1 loss to another Euro bound team, Denmark. The Swedes had a bright start, as Alexander Isak canceled out Denmark’s early goal but they’d fall to a late Cristian Eriksen strike. That loss undid their quest to build on the earlier 1-0 win over Albania. It was also their second loss in three matches, following their 5-2 defeat to Portugal. Sweden can however afford to stay positive, as they seek a fifth straight win at home. In their last 12 home matches, they suffered just two defeats, and won nine. However, when playing at home, Sweden have managed just three clean sheets in the last nine matches. With such a run, they’ll heavily bank on their attack, to outscore their visitors. Sweden only failed to score once in their last 12 home matches – against Belgium.

Serbia are set to take part in the Euros and will be hoping they can get their act together beforehand. They are coming from a 2-1 defeat to Austria, their third loss in five matches and they failed to score in two of those defeats. Serbia’s only win in their last five matches was against a much weaker side – Cyprus. This will therefore serve as a good test for them before they head to Germany. At the Euros, Serbia are drawn in a relatively tough group, which has England, Slovenia and Denmark. Facing Sweden, who are coming from a defeat against Denmark, Serbia will hope to take a few cues to their Euro 2024 campaign. In the run up to the Euros, however, the visitors must work on their defence. They have just one clean sheet in the last 11 matches, though they have a good run in attack. In their last 16 matches, Serbia only failed to score twice.
