[LaLiga] Mallorca has beaten Valencia in two of their last five meetings, losing only once.
The hosts had gone three consecutive league matches without a win or even scoring. They drew 0-0 against Athletic Bilbao before suffering narrow 0-1 defeats to Alavés and Atlético Madrid. However, Jagoba Arrasate’s side ended their winless streak last round with a hard-fought 3-2 away victory over Las Palmas.
Thanks to this success, Mallorca has climbed to eighth place in the table, just one point shy of the European qualification zone. In seven home matches, they have managed only two wins, with the same number of losses.
Meanwhile, Valencia finally found their rhythm in the last round, defeating Real Betis 4-2. This was only the third match in this La Liga campaign where they scored more than one goal. That victory also snapped a five-match winless streak for Los Che, which included three draws and two losses.
Rúben Baraja’s side has moved off the bottom of the table but remains in the relegation zone, just two points away from the safety of 17th place. Valencia has struggled on the road, failing to win any of their six away matches this season, collecting only two points and suffering four defeats.
