Aiming for their seventh consecutive victory across all competitions, Serie A leaders Napoli will host Atalanta BC at Stadio Maradona.

Napoli's 2-0 victory in Milan on Tuesday solidified their status as serious Scudetto contenders, with head coach Antonio Conte acknowledging that his team is in excellent form to challenge for the title. 

Key players Romelu Lukaku and Khvicha Kvaratshkelia both scored in the first half, extending Napoli's lead to 11 points over AC Milan, although they have played one match more. This win marks Napoli's fifth consecutive Serie A victory, the first such streak since their impressive run of eight games between January and February 2023, when they were on track for a remarkable season under Luciano Spalletti.

Conte has revitalized the squad after a year of underperformance, with only Barcelona having won more matches in Europe’s top five leagues this season. He is on track to become the first manager in Napoli's history to win his first six home games, having already achieved maximum points in his first five.

While their perfect record at Stadio Maradona may have benefited from a relatively easy fixture list, Atalanta’s visit will present a more significant challenge. In their last encounter in Naples, Atalanta secured a convincing 3-0 victory, breaking a streak where they had lost four consecutive Serie A matches to Napoli. 

Not long after that win, Atalanta went on to claim the Europa League trophy. After a slow start this season, they have begun to fulfill their high expectations, climbing to third in the table following a 2-0 victory over Monza, thanks to goals from Lazar Samardzic and Davide Zappacosta, both of whom came off the bench.
