Meanwhile, Alaves is enjoying a strong start to their 2023-24 season after returning to the top flight, sitting in fifth place with 10 points from three wins, one draw, and two losses. They’ve had a successful run lately, winning three of their last four matches, including victories against Real Sociedad and Las Palmas, followed by a win over Sevilla after a loss to Espanyol. Last season, Alaves faced a 5-0 defeat against Real Madrid in this fixture, but they notably upset the hosts with a 2-1 win at the Bernabeu in November 2020.
