Match Stats

Fabian Hurzeler, the young Brighton manager, remains unbeaten since taking charge, though last week's goalless draw with Ipswich Town felt more like two points lost. Despite their efforts, Brighton couldn’t break through, making it back-to-back draws after a controversial 1-1 with Arsenal before the international break. However, they found their scoring form in midweek, defeating Wolverhampton 3-2 in the EFL Cup thanks to goals from Carlos Baleba, Simon Adingra, and Ferdi Kadioglu. Currently sixth in the standings, Brighton has the chance to achieve a feat never done before by going unbeaten in their first five top-flight matches, a streak they haven’t enjoyed since the 2015-16 Championship season.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, is fresh off a stunning 1-0 victory against Liverpool, marking new manager Arne Slot's first competitive defeat. Forest's win halted Liverpool's perfect start, thanks to a combination of missed opportunities and a superb performance from goalkeeper Matz Sels, along with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s decisive goal. Although they’re seventh due to a lower goal tally, Forest did face an early EFL Cup exit against Newcastle on penalties. They come into Sunday’s match seeking an unprecedented fifth consecutive away win in the Premier League, but they’ve struggled against Brighton in recent encounters, losing both meetings last season and not scoring at the Amex since February 2015.
