Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to secure their second Bundesliga victory of the season when they take on FC Heidenheim at Signal Iduna Park, in their third league fixture of the 2024-25 campaign.

The match between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen ended in a goalless draw, with both teams managing a combined xG of just 0.98, reflecting a lack of clear-cut chances. Dortmund's defender Nico Schlotterbeck was sent off in the 73rd minute, but manager Nuri Sahin can take some solace from the fact that his team allowed only one shot after going down to ten men.

On the other hand, FC Heidenheim continues their impressive run, having won all five of their competitive matches this season. Despite having only 36% possession in their recent 4-0 victory over Augsburg, they created four big chances and kept a clean sheet.

Under manager Frank Schmidt, Heidenheim leads the Bundesliga, despite having the 16th lowest possession and the fewest touches in the opposition box among the top flight teams. They have won their last 11 matches across all competitions, including friendlies, and have been unbeaten in their last five away league games. In their last 11 top-flight away fixtures, they have only lost once.
