Sporting Lisbon travels to Arouca for their Primeira Liga match, determined to extend their perfect record at Estádio Municipal de Arouca.

Arouca's recent optimism following their victory over Nacional before the September international break was short-lived, as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Rio Ave. The loss dampened the positive feelings from their previous win.

With two weeks to reassess, Arouca's coach Gonzalo Garcia is looking for strategies to challenge Sporting Lisbon, the reigning champions, in their upcoming match on Friday. 

Facing Ruben Amorim's Sporting, who are currently top of the table and undefeated, Garcia will need his team to stay compact and hope for a rare off day from the visitors. 

Sporting has maintained their excellent form from the previous season, winning all four of their opening games and leading the league with a perfect record. They secured a significant 2-0 win over Porto before the break, ending a run of three games without victory against their rivals and avenging previous cup final and season opener losses.

Heading into the break with maximum points, Sporting is determined to extend their unbeaten run against Arouca, who currently sit 14th in the table. Sporting has scored 16 goals so far, far surpassing any other team, with Santa Clara trailing behind with just eight. Amorim’s side will look to continue their dominant form against a struggling opponent that has lost three of its four league matches this season.
