Barcelona will look to continue their perfect start to the La Liga season with a fourth consecutive win when they face newly-promoted Real Valladolid.

Barcelona's victories have often involved comebacks, including their recent 2-1 win against Rayo Vallecano, where Pedri equalized and Dani Olmo scored the decisive goal on his debut. With a strong start, Barcelona aims to head into the September international break at the top of the table with 12 points from four games. Despite only two summer signings, Pau Victor and Olmo, further transfers are anticipated, especially to replace Marc Bernal, who is out for the season with a knee injury.

Real Valladolid has also made a promising start, accumulating four points from their first three games, placing them 11th in the table. Valladolid drew 0-0 with Leganes on Wednesday and will now face Barcelona before the international break, followed by a match against Celta Vigo on September 14. They did defeat Barcelona 3-1 in their last encounter in May 2023, but have not won away against the Catalan side since November 1997.
